Top 5 Reasons You Need to Master Texas Hold'em Poker

Have you ever started learning something, got into for a while and then realized it’s all been a big waste of time?

I know it’s happened to me.

So, before you start learning to play Texas Hold ’em Poker, find out if it’s really a game you want to learn and eventually master.
  • Have you played poker games but you’ve never played Texas Hold’em and you want to try it out? Did your buddies tell you they’re going to be playing it next Thursday? Did you hit up a new city where they play Texas Hold’em in the cardrooms? Are you heading to Las Vegas, Nevada casinos and you want to try out Texas Hold’em over there? This is a good reason to get a good basic knowledge of Texas Hold’em.

  • Are you actually playing Texas Hold’em right now but some days you play really well and some days you play terrible? Then this is a good reason to take your playing to an Intermediate or even Advanced level.

  • Are you playing Texas Hold’em poker at an advanced level on a regular basis but you feel like you still mess it up every so often? You’re likely off your game in a small area, missing a few bets, and it’s worth getting that little bit of extra knowledge to take your game to the next level.

  • Have you never played poker before but you’re interested in it? Great, focus on taking your game just to the basic level, practice a while at the basic level at very low limits and then see if you want to take it further.

  • Are you consistently blasting everyone when playing $30-$60 Texas Hold’em games in casinos? Then you’re advanced and you should read books at that level, you’ll always get one new idea that can take your game to the next level. Keep pushing your play with only top level competition to keep yourself razorsharp at the game.

  • I’m partial to Low Limit Texas Hold’em Poker ($3-$6). You can find this game in almost every public cardroom in the United States. So it’s popular, which is great because you can always find a game. Why learn a game when you can barely ever play it? You want to master what will give the biggest advantage over the long term. Head into your local public cardroom, you’re likely to find a $3-$6 Texas Hold ’em game.

Another thing I love about Low Limit Texas Hold’em is that the opposing players play with a different style from other card games. This is the reason why you may have heard Low Limit Texas Hold’em Poker referred to as “No Fold’em Hold’em.”
