“You can win in poker based on being clever enough to hide your strategy, even though you might have a fairly poor hand,” says a Danish court judge.
Yes I know this is a Danish court and it may not affect the international world of poker. But it can definitely influence other lawmakers on their opinion of poker. The judge’s opinion explicitly states that poker is won or lost due to the amount of skill an individual poker players has and not on their “luck”.
The judge’s ruling follows Florida Representative Robert Wexler’s “The Skill Game Protection Act” (HR) 2610 bill, which hopefully will allow a UIGEA carve out for games of skill, which would include online poker playing.
