My buddy at big poker website PokerStars (which is open to USA players by the way) just emailed me an email about some new goings-on at PokerStars. Check it out:
The New Year is approaching fast, and we’re bringing it in with style – starting by introducing a bigger, better and more exciting VIP Program!
VIP Program Improvements
We’re radically improving the VIP Program in 2010, beginning with the arrival of our new VIP Stellar Rewards – a series of cash-credits that you will release throughout 2010. We’ve set out nineteen yearly milestones, each with a reward of up to $100, that start at just 750 VPP – a level that everyone can earn. They go up to 90,000 VPP so there’s something for the biggest players too. Earn them all and you will collect a total of $1,000!
We’re restructuring the way we award VPPs, so you will earn them at a quicker rate and climb the VIP ladder quicker than ever. We’ve also lowered the SilverStar VPP qualification to just 750 VPPs and combined our VIP Freerolls to form four quarterly $1 million freerolls throughout the year. You can read about all the VIP Program changes here.
World Record
We’re aiming to crush our own world record for the ‘Largest Online Poker Tourney’ – and we want you to be a part of it. On December 27 at 14:45 ET, we will host a tourney with a $300K guarantee and a $50K first prize – for a buy-in of just $1! Tourney ID: 234567890 – Register now!
Team Online
Team PokerStars Pro is growing with the introduction of PokerStars Team Online! We’ve selected more than 20 top online poker players from 18 countries as the foundation for this new elite group. They join the PokerStars team which also include six WSOP* Main Event champions! You can learn about the new faces on the Team PokerStars Pro webpage.
Lastly, don’t forget to look out for ‘Santa Claus’ at the tables during the festive period. He will be visiting the PokerStars tables to spread seasonal cheer and Christmas cash.
Season’s greetings to you all
The PokerStars Team!
