World Series of Poker 2008 Will Be Held at the Rio in Las Vegas

The 39th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It’s going to be running from May 30 through July 17, 2008. They haven’t released the exact schedule of events for the WSOP but they’re working on it. “The team is still hard at work on the schedule of events for next year,” said Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP Commissioner, “but we’ve received so many requests for the dates that we decided to announce them now.”

World Series of Poker ChipsMay 26th is the expected date that the “WSOP tournament room” at the Rio – which will most likely be the Amazon Room – will open for two special events. “This ‘soft opening’ will give players a chance to register early and avoid the lines we had last year during opening weekend – our busiest time,” says Geno Iafrate, Rio hotel vice president and assistant general manager.

The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino is located off the Las Vegas Strip in the unincorported area of Paradise, Nevada, USA. It is better known as The Rio and is owned and operated by Harrah’s Entertainment. The Rio was the first all suite casino in the Las Vegas area. It was named after the city of Rio de Janeiro, and has Brazilian culture as a main theme. The hotel towers are covered in the signature purple and red glass. The Rio hotel’s 2,563 suites range in size from 600 to 13,000 sq ft (56 to 1,210 m2) and have floor to ceiling windows. The complex includes a wine cellar that has more than 50,000 bottles. The Rio Pavilion convention center has a total of 160,000 sq ft (15,000 m2) of space. A Race and Sports Book is also available.

This design is steller! You obviously know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Great job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
